Updates (November 15, 2005)

Here's what I've been doing since my last post. My excuse for not keeping this updated is laziness. So here goes..

HELLFEST

Jerry and I went to the hellfest. Last year was so much better. I got there last year at about 12pm (thats the time gates open) and there was a very long queue outside HMB. This year, when we got there at about 1pm, the place was deserted. Although, the crowd did pick up eventually. We didn't stay all night and we didn't get drunk. Unwanted people were there but they're everywhere.

UNI

I just got my results back from uni. I passed everything. So, if everything goes according to plan, then I'm up to graduate this December. Finally, out of uni and into the world. I'm crossing over.

EMPLOYMENTS

1. "Three" Mobile

I worked for "Three" (The mobile phone company) for a little while. It was a crappy job and I was tricked! I was tricked, I tell ya! The ad said it was an "appintment setter" position. Me, having no clue of the workforce environment, thought it would be like a receptionist or something. I went for the interview, and it turned out to be a telemarketing job. Anyway, I still gave it a go and I didn't last. I only lasted for two weeks, which is quite an accomplishment for me.

2. Giordano

I am now currently employed at Giordano at DFO (Direct Factory Outlet - a new outlet shopping place near the airport). I attended the induction this morning and I start work on Thursday. I am employed as a permanent part time shopgirl and if it turns out to be satisfying, I might consider going full time.

I went to the induction today. We were told of the rules (No chokers, no gothic make up, no offensive piercings, no intrusive hair color) and responsibilities and basically, how things work at Giordano. I got my schedule today. I work four days a week - Thursday, friday, Saturday, Sunday. There goes my weekends.

Other opportunities

I had an interview with BigW two weeks ago. We were told that we will be informed in two weeks if we get the job or not and it will be two weeks tomorrow. I don't know if I will get it or not, which doesn't really matter now since I'm with Giordano already.

I had to turn down an interview with Esprit, which was a waste. I would prefer working with Esprit but I guess Giordano isn't as bad. Growing up, I was exposed to Giordano all my life. My parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are all Giordano wearers.

MOBILE PHONES

I bought a Sony Ericsson V800 on eBay for $340 (including postage), which is a real bargain. I was using it for a about 2 weeks just to see if there's chemistry there. There was none. It was a good phone. It has all the good stuff. but the chemistry between me and that phone is missing, so I had to sell it. I sold it to Jerry for the same price I paid for it. Now I'm back to my Motorola V220.
And I've never been happier. It's got all the stuff I need and none of the stuff I don't need. the camera is surprisingly good. It was quite cheap too. No more than $160. It's compact and the menus are quick to respond.

Well, that's it! That's basically what I've been up to.
